Students enrolled in UC San Diego Extension’s Video & Editing Professional Certificate recently screened their demo reels for industry professionals, including Fred Ashman (MultiImage), Michael Jones (Michael Jones Group), and others.
During the screening, students — having now completed almost a full year of hands-on training — screened their work, practiced their “elevator pitches,” and received critique from the experts in attendance.
Lead instructor Jodi Cilley, a San Diego based educator, award-winning producer, and founder of the San Diego Independent Filmmakers Consortium, said that “The students have done some excellent work over the course of this year. They’ve really come a long way, and come together as a team, and their final project I.O.U. — a short film that they wrote, cast, filmed, and produced themselves — is going to be something to see.”
Students recently wrapped production for I.O.U. After completing filming, student Janna Reznik had this to say: “I am so happy…we’ve worked with real clients and discussed and participated in all aspects of [production]…The instructors are very knowledgeable, experienced, resourceful, helpful, and supportive, and they encourage us to be creative, original, and highly professional in everything we do.”
The Video Production & Editing certificate is one of three one year professional training certificates offered by UC San Diego Extension’s Digital Arts Center.
